I love green smoothies – I have them pretty much every day during the week at 10am to fight my explosive hanger. This one is a classic go to appropriate for erryday.

Serves: 1
INGREDIENTS:
  • 1 banana, chopped (frozen banana gives a better texture but fresh is fine)
  • 1 cup non sweetened almond milk
  • 1 large handful of baby spinach (don’t be shy)
  • 4-5 ice cubes
  • 1 Green Smoothie Company Green Is Good sachet
  • To top (all optional but delicious – or use whatever you have at home):
  • 1 tablespoon shredded unsweetened coconut
  • 1 tablespoon cacao nibs
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds
  • 1 tablespoon pepitas
  • 2 tablespoons fresh raw almonds, chopped
  • ½ teaspoon cinnamon
  • Few twists of cracked vanilla
INSTRUCTIONS:
  1. Add all the smoothie ingredients into a blender and blend until super smooth.
  2. Pour into your loveliest bowl.
  3. Top with all of your favourite toppings – I have outlined mine above, however anything like fresh strawberries, figs, dates or other fruit, nuts and seeds are excellent healthy additions to your bowl. If this is going to be a meal, feel free to bulk it up with chia seeds, oats or raw granola – the smoothie is an excellent replacement for milk over muesli!
  4. Consume immediately or within the day – note it will probably turn brownish if left in the fridge for a few hours but it will still taste great.
